In a alpha universe, of the Star realm: there existed a within Europe, a alternate: Nottinghamshire. This enchanting nation is the birthplace of Soul Hearts Academy.

The deities of this world are ancient and powerful entities, each representing a different aspect of concept and magic.. However, as time went on, their decisions and actions had plunge that world into chaos.

It started when most deities decided to imbue certain chosen girls with their divine essence. These individuals, who are now known as: Magical Girls, are granted extraordinary abilities that would be used to compete with girls from different religions/temples.

So for over a millennia: a few girls would randomly find they have a deity's power normally at around 10-12 years old, and most of the time, chose a luxurious yet exciting life of serving their patron deity. This became normal throughout the centuries, and girls would either use what little power they had in their own lives or become soldiers to the one of the gods..

Now; in the birthplace of Soul Hearts: Nottingham, the local deity: Penance, has instead kept his girls living mostly in peace, to protect and help others, rather than compete with the other demigod like women.. Because of this: his temple was left behind the times, though his efforts are appreciated by civilians and followers alike, the world doesn't notice his temple and so it is left to donations and volunteer work by some civilians and the 7 women who now currently in his temple.
